MMP004 – High Energy Hard Rock Double Double

It’s time once again to grace the internet airwaves with some music; Musicgoat style. This show was one that I recorded out of the blue last Friday when getting ready to go out for a few beers with my buddies.

I feature two songs each by two very solid hard rock bands; Atomic Brother and Violent Divine. The songs in this show really get the blood pumping. If you need a pick me up at anytime, this is the show.

Just when you thought nobody could truly rock anymore.

Here are songs and the bands you heard on this podcast. Check them out or die.
Violent Divine – “Rush You” & “Let Go”
Atomic Brother – “See Me Comin” & “Everything and Less”

These and a ton of other great artists can be found on the Pod Safe Music Network.

Artist Defections and DRM Doom

Here is an article which discusses a few major artists who are leaving their record label. Also discussed is why those same artist are beginning to do away with charging for those tracks and DRM. Very interesting read. Go read about the record label defections now. Maybe some day you won’t feel so dirty when you download those illegal tunes.

Serj is coming!

Thanks for the introduction CK. I’m glad to post for you, it’s an honor. Ok, my first entry into the Goat, so here we go. I feel no pressure. (Yea, right.)

Now that yet another of my favorite bands has decided to “pursue individual interests,” I’m left again to wonder what the future holds for myself musically. I look to Serj Tankian (lead vocalist, System of A Down) to heighten my interest immediately.

Serj is unloading the bands’ first solo project on October 23rd, oddly titled, “Elect The Dead.” He has been pushing his project almost overwhelmingly on Myspace.com.

Although only two singles have been released, it’s obvious that this album will not sound much like System at all. Serj amuses with Read the rest of this entry

Lets Give a Big Musicgoat Welcome to…

He guys I have some good news for you. Starting today you will begin to see posts from an long time friend of mine: Brice (aka BL).

A few months back I told him I was doing some blogging. After reading my content on this site – other than ripping on my shaky writing skills – he thought he would give it a shot. So before he goes through all of the trouble of setting up his own blog, he is going to give it a go on the Musicgoat.

You will see that he has a pretty unique perspective on anything music. Although he is not quite the Musicgoat that I am, he’s in the ballpark. Over the years he’s been listening to everything from Slayer to Statler Brothers to Boys II Men to Snoop to Pearl Jam and even Kriss Kross.

Also, he doesn’t particularly like cover bands. Guys like Axl Rose, Eddie Vedder and Serj from System of a Down are Gods to him. And, believe it or not, he can frequently eat about two pounds of Hamburger Helper in one sitting without gaining a pound (lucky bastard).

Stick around because this should be fun. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with.

Acoustic Hendrix (Video)

Here’s something you don’t see everyday. A video of Jimi Hendrix playing a 12 string acoustic guitar. Very nice. Check it out.
