A Few Very Young and Very Talented Child Musical Prodigies
The other day some friends on Mixx sent me a MySpace profile of a young dude named Alton Skaggs (click his name and listen). As you can hear, he is very talented and has a bright future. He reminds me a little of an amazing guitarist by the name of Andy McKee.
Well, that whole experience reminded me of some of the amazing video I’ve seen on YouTube of various child musical prodigies. Young children that play instruments and sound like they have been playing for years.
I went and I rounded up a few videos to share with you. Check’em out now.
A little “Crazy Train” from a little guy whose guitar is bigger than him.
And listen to this guy play the blues. Damn, just wait until he gets his heart broken!
Jawdropping classical piano from a little girl.
A young Neil Peart in the making.
And check out this little drummer boy with the HUGE smile on his face.
I know there are plenty more, so if that wasn’t enough for you, just hop onto YouTube and see what you can find.
Oh and I’m not on YouTube a whole lot but if you are in the neighborhood, stop by and say hi. I’d love to see what vidoes you are checking out. I am Musicgoat1.

Hello Cory – so many talented kids, I really enjoyed these videos. Used to play in a rock band in my younger days, but we were not close to the talents of these kids… We used to be the crazy girl band that became locale heroes. These kids are really amazing, especially liked the “little drummer kid”. Lets support all the dedicated musicians around the world, they certainly deserve a chance. Great stuff Cory

Crazy girl band? Any basement tapes?
Thanks for stopping.
Sorry for spelling your name wrong in above comment COREY. Lets blame it on Mr Redwine … I’ll have a serious talk with him tomorrow whenever I wake up…
No problem. It happens more than you know! Just remember that the guys with the “e” are the better looking of the two.
Thanks for sharing the music of Alton Skaggs here… that’s pretty cool of you:-)
Thanks for stopping and for the compliment ASF! It was not a problem at all and the pleasure was all mine. He deserves all of the recognition he can get.
